The Algarve consists of more than one hundred miles of golden beaches. From Faro there are picturesque harbours and vessels along a stretch of the coastline that has been highly developed. This particular part of Portugal attracts the greatest number of visitors. The sandy coast is given an interesting character by impressive sandstone cliffs that become granite in the area of Sagres. This section of the cliffs of Portugal hides little bays and fascinating caves to be admired.
