United Kingdom - Poetry, Castles and Coastline

Article Date: 2008-09-02

One of the quieter regions to visit is that of Wales. Wales could be called the UK's best kept secret. It has always been the most affordable part of the country to live. It is on record that ninety percent of the Welsh population has a good standard of living. It is true Wales is not as frenetic as the rest of the UK. However, it has everything needed to keep visitors and locals happy.

Recently, Wales was thrust into the limelight. People are beginning to realize this part of the UK is a gem. All the attention is due to the film 'The Edge of Love'. The film features Keira Knightley, Sienna Miller and Mathew Rhys. It is being acclaimed for the incredibly beautiful location used for filming. The setting is Wales. The Welsh coastline is unspoiled but has all the necessary luxuries for quality of life. There are beaches for excellent surfing, golf courses, villages, towns and castles. Family ties in Wales are strong and it is the perfect place for family life.

Wales is being rediscovered since the exceptional poetry written by the Welsh Poet, Dylan Thomas. Today, it is possible to enjoy life in Wales without living like a struggling poet. Properties here always provided better value for money than anywhere else in the UK. Now that house prices are falling, Wales is an even better prospect for property investment. Buying property on the coast has obvious benefits as an investment.

First time investors who want a home in Wales have never had it this good for a long time. Prior to the falling prices of properties, it was almost impossible to break into the housing market. Looking at the August housing figures of England and Wales can only encourage property investment. Average homes decreased in value by 4,662 to 164,654 pounds. See it as 150 pounds a day. One of the rules of property investment is to purchase when prices are more affordable. Buy and then wait for the property prices to climb again. Wales is considered the best buy in the UK.
