Going to Spain usually means spending time at resorts along the coast. Recently, visitors discovered the other side of Spain. The Sierra Nevada is an impressive and long mountain range. The landscape is wild and dramatic. You can see glacial lakes, rivers, slopes and gorges all ringed by snowy summits. Moving further south there is the Alpujarras range. Here you will enjoy landscapes that can only be described as breathtaking. The appearance of Las Alpujarras is very similar to the Himalayas. A huge area of this mountainous region in Spain is a UNESCO reserve. It is perfect for walking, hiking and biking.

This region in Spain is a perfect destination any season of the year. The area is not highly populated and is peaceful and quiet. If you want to spend time getting close to nature in a beautiful environment you will find everything you need. When you want to be with people there is the capital called Orgiva. You will find the local inhabitants to be friendly and helpful. You can choose to stay in a traditional style farmhouse. In this part of Spain there are fig trees and orchards of lemon, orange and almond trees. Orgiva is not a city. It's a market town in Spain just big enough to have shops, an internet cafe, bars and banks. The town has 6 000 inhabitants. The coastline is only thirty kilometers away.

If you have been wooed by the tranquility and the perfect climate you may want to have a permanent place in the sun. In Spain, the word is out that properties may have to be sold at around twenty to twenty fiver percent less. This leaves room for property buyers to negotiate for a better asset. Property buying is the way to get a permanent home in Spain. The reason given for this willingness to negotiate is to prevent a large fall in prices in a couple of years. Another reason given is that builders in Spain have a cash flow shortage. This is why their prices are falling dramatically. This is very good news if you want to buy property. But this trend won't last longer than it takes to bring in some cash. There are indications this may be a good opportunity to purchase property in Spain.
