United Kingdom - Edinburgh Life

Article Date: 2008-11-18

Edinburgh in the United Kingdom seems to have it all. This city is spread out and has many open spaces. If you want a location with a genuine historical character then Edinburgh will keep you intrigued. But there is also a vibrant cosmopolitan atmosphere that is en par with the world's great cities. The best known landmark is the Edinburgh Castle. This piece of history is right in the middle of the city. Scotland is proud of its heritage. The castle is much loved and draws visitors from around the world. It is built on an extinct volcano and gives Edinburgh its unmistakable skyline.

When walking around the city you will come across many green spaces and parks. There are world famous museums and galleries to keep you in touch with the cultural side of this part of the United Kingdom. It is a special experience to hear the traditional sound of Scottish bagpipes. There are also many coffee shops where you can stop off and taste authentic shortbread. To have the true Scottish experience, try haggis at a traditional restaurant. But Edinburgh is really making a name for itself as a city capable of keeping up with the most modern trends. Whether it is the best nightclubs, bands and fashion, this city is able to deliver. Edinburgh residents have cosmopolitan tastes and are well traveled.

It is no secret the economy of Scotland is relatively stable in comparison to the rest of the United Kingdom. This is most noticeable in the property market. The Scottish market has not been quite as hard hit as the rest of the UK. Edinburgh is still one of the more expensive property locations in Scotland. Scotland has not experienced hardship on the same level as England. Even so, there has still been approximately twenty percent decline in property deals. This could be what certain property investors have been waiting for. At present, Edinburgh prices are down by three percent. To make the best property asset investment the price must be low. Weather the weak economy and buy a property in Scotland for a future return.
